Masks are mandatory when gathering at the beginning and end of our events. Additionally, we strongly recommend masks be worn during the activity (but are not required as long as physical distance is being maintained) - if group members are closer than 6 feet apart they MUST wear a mask covering their mouth and nose. DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT (JUNE 3, 2021)
Join us for a Backcountry Women "Adventure Women" hike on the Hansons Creek Trail, which follows along part of the Centennial Trail system in the Whiteshell Provincial Park! The hike leads through a mix of forests and up and down on the granite rock ridges. There are beautiful views along the way, and a cute red bridge and peaceful setting to enjoy lunch at the end.

Arrival Time: Arrive by 9:00 AM. We will begin the hike no later than 9:30 AM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group.
Location: Hansons Creek Trail in Whiteshell Provincial Park (the trailhead begins from across Highway 44 from the Bear Lake Trail). Drivers must have a valid Manitoba Parks pass. They must be purchased online. You can park in the Bear Lake trail parking lot.
Backcountry Women acknowledges that this hike will take place on Treaty 3 Territory.

Duration/Distance: ~8 KM
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear.
Terrain: Rocky terrain, forests, boggy sections. There are plenty of ups and downs, including some steeper climbs and descents.
Pace: Moderate with a break for lunch and additional stops for water as needed.
Please keep dogs at home.
