Join us for a Backcountry Women Adventure Women hike at Bear Lake!

The Bear Lake Trail is an out and back trail that is scenic and features a peaceful lake. Depending on the season or the amount of rain, the trail is often wet. The trail opens up to a marshy area and goes into a forest of poplars and birch and over sections of the Canadian Shield. There are some ups and downs in addition to gentle terrain. We will enjoy a leisurely lunch at the lake before returning to the trailhead.

PLEASE NOTE: There are rope assisted scrambles near the lake. This hike is not appropriate for you if you struggle with steep rock climbs that have very little traction, or if you're very afraid of heights.

We will hike this trail rain or shine, unless deemed unsafe.

Event leaders: Ashley Moore and Michelle Ip. Click for more information

Arrival Time: by 9:30 AM. We will begin the hike no later than 10:00 AM. The time arranged allows for you to have time to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for the leaders to share information with the group.

Location: We will meet in the parking lot at the trailhead of Bear Lake Trail. See the Google Maps location here

Backcountry Women acknowledges that this hike will take place on Treaty 3 Territory
