Join us for a Backcountry Women "Adventure Women" hike and/or snowshoe at Cabin Lake Trail!  

Cabin Lake is an out and back trail that is scenic, featuring pretty views, a cute red foot bridge, and ends at the peaceful lake. There are multiple ups and downs along with gentle terrain. We will enjoy lunch at the lake, where there is a picnic table and firepit, with the option to snowshoe on the frozen lake. Snowshoes are optional on this trail, and the path is snow packed, so it can be hiked as well. 

In order to keep group sizes small, we will be having two groups of 4 participants each plus a leader for each group. After the group introductions, one group will begin the hike and the other group will follow approximately 10 minutes later in order to remain distanced and separate. It is important to physically distance from each other on the trail and during breaks and lunch.

Arrival Time: Arrive by 9:00 AM. We will begin the hike/snowshoe no later than 9:30 AM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group. 

Location: Cabin Lake Trail in Whiteshell Provincial Park. We will meet in the parking area at the trailhead. 

Backcountry Women acknowledges that this hike will take place on Treaty 3 Territory. 

Overall Difficulty Rating: due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 3/5.

This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Activity Category: Adventure Women
Duration/Distance: Approximately 6 KM (a break will be included for lunch at the lake).
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear. 
Terrain: The trail has multiple ups and downs along the granite rock. The trail is currently snow-packed but expect that there may be the potential for some slippery sections. Hiking poles and/or traction on your footwear is recommended. 
Pace: Moderate with a break for lunch and additional stops for water as needed.
