Regarding Covid-19: Due to the numbers placed on gathering restrictions, we need your cooperation in only signing up for events that you can truly commit to attending. 

Masks are mandatory when gathering at the beginning and end of our events. Additionally, we strongly recommend masks be worn during the activity (but are not required as long as physical distance is being maintained) - if group members are closer than 6 feet apart they MUST wear a mask covering their mouth and nose. Please review our full Covid-19 policy and safety practices here.

Join us for a Backcountry Women Adventure Women hike on the Pembina Rim Trail in Pembina Valley Provincial Park!

Arrival Time: Arrive by 9:00am. We will begin the hike no later than 9:30 AM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group. 


Location: Pembina Valley Provincial Park.  Exact meeting location will be shared with registered participants. valid Manitoba Parks pass is required and can be purchased online. This park does close seasonally during winter weather but the unmaintained trails are still welcome to be used according to the website. If this is the case we will park at the main road and walk into the park.

 due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 2/5This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance: 7-10km
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear.

Terrain: Although this hike is located in the prairies, it has plenty of ups and downs over rolling hills and some steep valley slopes. Expect slippery terrain if recent snow/ice has covered the trail. Come prepared with traction aids such as micro spikes and/or hiking poles.

Pace: Moderate with a break for a lunch and additional stops for water as needed. 

Please keep dogs at home.
