Regarding Covid-19: Due to the numbers placed on gathering restrictions, we need your cooperation in only signing up for events that you can truly commit to attending. 

Masks are mandatory when gathering at the beginning and end of our events. Additionally, we strongly recommend masks be worn during the activity (but are not required as long as physical distance is being maintained) - if group members are closer than 6 feet apart they MUST wear a mask covering their mouth and nose. Please review our full Covid-19 policy and safety practices here.

Join us for a Backcountry Women Adventure Women hike on Ancient Beach Trail


Event Leaders: Christina Hiebert Click for more informationIf you are ready to take your experience up a notch from sticking to trails around Winnipeg, this is your opportunity to join a leader who loves to empower women to safely step out of their comfort zones and try new experiences

Arrival Time: Arrive by 2:00 PM. We will begin the hike no later than 2:15 PM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group. 


Location: Ancient Beach Trail in Grand Beach Provincial Park. A valid Provincial Park pass is usually required however all park entry for the month of February is FREE!

Overall Difficulty Rating: due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 2/5This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance: 2.1 km
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear.

Terrain: Mostly gentle terrain, with one moderate climb and one moderate decent. Depending on recent snowfall amounts, snowshoes could be useful but are optional.

Pace: Moderate with breaks for water as needed. 

Please keep dogs at home.
