Join us for a Backcountry Women Adventure Women hike on Pine Point Rapids Trail.

The first loop of Pine Point Rapids includes gentle ups and downs over rock, boardwalks, and roots. The second loop of Pine Point includes more moderate climbs and steeper descents over similar terrain. The second loop is more challenging than the first. The trail is typically well tracked, but this may be variable dependent on recent snowfall. Expect slippery conditions on both loops. We will enjoy lunch at the rapids after completing the second loop.

Arrival Time: Arrive by 9:00 AM. We will begin the hike no later than 9:30 AM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group. 

Location: Pine Point Rapids  Exact meeting location will be shared with registered participants. A valid Manitoba Parks pass is required and can be purchased online.

Overall Difficulty Rating: due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 3/5. This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance: 9 KM and approximately 4 hours with breaks included. 
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear.

Terrain: Steep rocks (slippery when snow and ice covered), open rock faces, thick and boggy forest, and boardwalks. Traction aids such as hiking poles are recommended.

Pace: Slow to moderate with a break for lunch and additional stops for water and layer changes as needed. 

Please keep dogs at home.
