DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT (Aug 25)

Join us for a Backcountry Women Adventure Women hike on Pine Point Rapids Trail located in Whiteshell Provincial Park. This scenic trail is a must see with several rapids to view.


Event Leaders: Maggie Wen and Patty Noble

Arrival Time: Arrive by 8:30 AM. We will begin the hike no later than 9:00 AM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group. 


Location: Pine Point Rapids.  The exact meeting location will be shared with registered participants. valid Manitoba Parks pass is required and can be purchased online.

Overall Difficulty Rating:
 due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 3/5This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance:  5.4km (short loop), 8.2km (long loop) - length will be decided based on trail conditions and weather.
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear.

Terrain: Varied terrain. Steep rocks with a fair bit of up and down (slippery when wet), thick and boggy forest with mud (expect wet feet if there has been recent rain / snow), and tree roots make for a tripping hazard. 

Pace: Moderate with a break for a lunch at the falls and additional stops for water as needed. 


This is a dog friendly event. Dogs are welcome but must remain on leash during the walk. RETRACTABLE LEASHES ARE NOT ALLOWED. Please leave your dog (s) at home if there is a heat advisory, if they do not walk well in groups, or are unable to complete the entire trail. DOG OWNERS MUST BE AWARE OF OUR DOG POLICY ON OUR FAQ PAGE.
