DEADLINE TO REGISTER: BY MIDNIGHT, TWO DAYS BEFORE THE EVENT (March 9th)

Join us for a Backcountry Women Adventure Women hike on the newly re-opened Bear Lake Trail!

Event leaders: Ainsley Balcewich and Brittany Thiessen

Arrival Time: Arrive by 9:00 AM. We will begin the hike no later than 9:30 AM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group. 

Location: Bear Lake Trail. Exact meeting location will be shared with registered participants. valid Manitoba Parks pass is required and can be purchased online.

 due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 3/5This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance: 6 KM, approximately 3 hours 
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear.

Terrain: Steep rocks with a fair bit of up and down (slippery), thick and boggy forest with mud (expect wet feet if the temperature has warmed up), and open rock faces. There is a very steep section that may require sliding down. *Mid March weather can be unpredictable - terrain may vary based on temperature.* We highly recommend hiking poles!

Pace: Moderate with a break for a lunch and additional stops for water as needed. 

Please keep dogs at home.
