Join us for a Backcountry Women Adventure Women hike on the Spirit Sands and Devil's Punch Bowl trails. This is a challenging and unique trail found in Spruce Woods Provincial Park. The Devil's Punch Bowl and sand dunes are just some of the amazing features of nature that we have here in Manitoba. Come join us before winter comes full force!

Arrival Time: Arrive by 9:00 AM. We will begin the hike no later than 9:30 AM. The time arranged allows for you to attend to personal needs such as organizing your gear and for leaders to share information with the group.
Location: Spirit Sands and Devil's Punch Bowl Trail - Spruce Woods Provincial Park. Exact meeting location will be shared with registered participants. A valid Manitoba Parks pass is required and can be purchased online.

Overall Difficulty Rating: due to the factors mentioned below, this activity is rated a 3/5. This rating is subject to change based on prevailing conditions at the time of the activity, including but not limited to weather.

Duration/Distance: 10.3 KM
Experience: This event is open to participants with an average level of fitness who have some hiking experience. You must have the ability to walk with the group at a moderate pace for the duration of the activity and come to the activity with appropriate footwear, gear and outerwear.
Terrain: Challenging terrain with a lot of different landscapes and elevation. There will be sections of the sand dunes where the path would be sand only in an open area with no coverage. Some forested paths, and stairs/boardwalk over water. Due to the early winter season, participants should be prepared for unexpected changes in forecast which could alter terrain (ie. snow/ice) - hiking poles are strongly recommended.
Pace: Moderate pace with a lunch break in the middle. Additional short/quick water stops as needed.
